Kathryn served as the Creative Marketing Director at Global Genes, a leading rare disease advocacy organization, where she led creative, brand, and UX strategy, and managed product development. Kathryn's portfolio at Global Genes includes the creation of UX personas and patient journey maps, the establishment of UX research and design standards, the development of a brand and layout guide, content mapping and development, and the refresh of the Global Genes website and social media platforms. In addition, she led key technology initiatives including the development and launch of a Single Sign On, the Global Genes RARECast podcast website, RARE University educational platform (LMS), Global Genes Community platform, and the Global Genes Resource Hub. She also earned a reputation for whiteboard illustration!

From creating impeccable proposals for government RFPs to developing and launching a digital Marketing and Social Media campaign, Kathryn increased the number of awarded contracts, expanded the digital footprint of the firm's brand, and optimized Pickering's visibility to current and prospective clients.

In the midst of the 2007-2008 recession, Kathryn saw an opportunity to launch an innovative entrepreneurial e-commerce and creative consulting business - Ikle Creative Designs. She imagined, designed, and created a website offering custom home furnishings, art, and accessories to clients across the United States.

Individuals, groups, and organizations engaged Kathryn's creative consulting services as an art and design professional for adult, youth, and specialty classes, corporate networking events, workshops, and seminars. She partnered with organizations such as Shelby Farms Park Conservancy, Memphis Botanic Gardens, Hobby Lobby, Brookdale Senior Living Community, Germantown Community Library, Collierville Burch Library, Evangelical Christian School, and St. Mary's Episcopal School in Memphis, TN.
