Threads of Power: Ikle Lace Collection On Display At The Bard Graduate Center Gallery, New York
Select pieces of the Ikle lace collection are currently on display at the Bard Graduate Center Gallery in New York until January 1, 2023. St. Gallen, located in eastern Switzerland, has been an important center of textile production since the fifteenth century. The city is home to the Textilmuseum St. Gallen, established in 1878, which houses an extensive collection of historical lace, thanks in large part to early twentieth-century donations from Leopold Iklé (1838–1922), a local textile manufacturer. Drawing on this rich repository, Threads of Power traces the history of European lace in fashion from its sixteenth-century origins to today.
Kathryn Creates New Painting for the DFW Costumers Guild 'Black & White' Tea & Exhibit
The DFW Costumers Guild will be hosting a private tea at The Heard-Craig Center for the Arts on October 7, 2022. Attendees will wear historic dresses for the occasion. In honor of the event, Art Club of McKinney, TX artists have created works of art to be shown at the tea using the dresses as subjects. All dresses represented in the artwork will be in a black and white theme and vary in style. This idea was inspired by the widely popular The Metropolitan Museum of Art 2013 Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity exhibit. Kathryn's 3' x 6' painting will be on display from October 7-21, 2022.
