From Saturday morning cartoons to mixtapes, from retro fashion to classic video games—this show is all about the eras that shaped us.
Kathryn Ike Selected as Guest Artist with the City of Plano June 2026
Kathryn Iklé has been selected as a Guest Artist with the City of Plano at the Gallery at the Courtyard, featuring 30 brand-new works from her upcoming collection, Vessels of Color.
Vessels of Color is a collection rooted in revival, joy, and letting broken things bloom. Each piece is created using fragments—broken ceramic shards from real vases, teacups, and everyday objects—layered with acrylic paint, tissue paper, and found materials. What once felt fragile or discarded becomes the foundation for bold color, texture, and movement.
Flowers and organic forms burst from these vessels in saturated hues, celebrating resilience, growth, and the beauty that comes from repair rather than replacement. In this collection, nothing is hidden or “fixed” to disappear—every crack, layer, and fragment is intentionally visible and honored.
This work is deeply personal, shaped by Kathryn’s family’s love of textiles, materials, craftsmanship, and reuse, and by the belief that everyday objects carry stories worth honoring.
Kathryn looks forward to sharing this work, this space, and this moment with friends, fellow artists, and the community. Guests are encouraged to mark their calendars and attend the public reception in July.
More details will be shared soon.
